Celebrate Vermont Cows on National Cow Appreciation Day! July 14, 2015
BY Lisa Friedman
I know that you will all join me in celebrating with our beautiful Bovine Buddies on this most special of days. This cute and silly holiday is meant to pay special tribute to these gentle creatures which so enrich our lives. I mean, what would we do without our friend the cow? Imagine no milk, butter, ice cream, yogurt, beef, filet mignon…??? It is just unfathomable!
Chick-Fil-A is offering a free meal to all customers who show up in full cow regalia at their 1,700 stores nationwide. Patrons donning partial cow costumes will merely earn a free entrée. Some people will do a lot for a free meal so dress as silly as you choose. If you don’t feel like dressing like a cow from head to hoof, you can wear a cow headdress or even a spotted purse, furry ears or wearing a cow bell may got you some morsels. You can get a laugh by going to their web site to vote on pictures people submitted for best cow costume. Below is a photo of some costumed cows which I took during the Strolling of the Heifers Cow Parade in Brattleboro, Vermont.
A picturesque quintessential Vermont view!
Just say “Moo”!
Such a sweet faced Vermont cow…
